How to upload CAD / 3D files

Convert CAD and 3D files to SmartVu's® in a few clicks.

Upload your CAD or 3D files. Our software then automatically converts your files into our photorealistic, compressed and secure 3D data format called VF3D and creates SmartVu®.

There are several ways to upload your files, depending on your Vuframe® Studio plan and file count.

Method 1: Create a new SmartVu®

This method is the standard way to upload your CAD or 3D files.

Use the sidebar and navigate to the SmartVu® overview. Click on the button + SmartVu® to create a new SmartVu®.

Next, click on the tile Create from 3D or CAD file and select your file format.

Click Upload files to start the upload. As soon as the upload is done, our Aura™ pipeline will start processing your files and create your SmartVu®.

Method 2: Upload in Assets & Media

This method is recommended to be used if you are processing many CAD or 3D files. This method is only available for Enterprise Accounts.

Use the sidebar and navigate to the Assets & Media overview. If you use many different file types, we recommend you to organize your files in the Assets & Media section as described here.

if you have a folder in use, just click it, otherwise create one

To upload a 3D or CAD file, you must have created at least one folder.

Next, click the Upload Files button.

Choose your file format and click Upload files. As soon as the upload is done, our Aura™ pipeline will start processing your files and eventually create your SmartVu®.
